1. What is Course Content in ampEducator?
Please Note: ampEducator offers Tests as a standalone LMS tool (Tests do not require Course Content to be enabled) these are different than Course Content Section Quizzes. For more information on Tests please see our Guide:

Course Content is an optional extension of our LMS tools in Courses and allows you to create a Course Outline with Units, Sections and Items. You can add Resources (Document, URL Link, Text and Video(s) within the Unit and Quizzes to Sections within the Unit.
Each ampEducator Course (and Course Template) can have Course Content enabled under LMS / Content section and once done a Content Tab will appear in the Course.
Clicking on this Tab reveals the Course Content Outline Edit Tools and a reference to the organization of Course Content in ampEducator as follows:
1. Unit 1
a. Section 1
i. Item 1
ii. Item 2
... etc.
b. Section 2
... etc.
2. Unit 2
a. Section 2
... etc.
2. Adding New Units and Settings for Numbering.
a. Clicking on the Outline Menu (3 lines) to the right of the Outline Section will reveal 2 options:
i. New Unit.
This Adds Units to the Current Section with Unit Title and optional Description for the Unit.
Once added the Unit will appear with Menu (3 lines) to the right of the Unit Name these will allows you to Add New Section(s) to the Unit, Edit the Unit or Delete the Unit:
ii. Settings - This controls the Unit, Section and Item Numbering (or None):
3. Adding New Sections and Section Quizzes
Once you have added a Unit, you can access the Unit Menu to Add New Sections to the Unit (as described above):
i. Click "Add New Section".
This will allow you to enter a Section Title and optional Description for the Unit. If you do not wish to use Quizzes for the Section then do not enable them (you can always come back and enable them later as required).
This adds the Section and provides access to the Section Menu to add Items (Document, Resource Link, Text and Video Links):
ii. Section Quiz
If you wish to have a Quiz for any Section you can Edit the Section (Menu) then check the box to Enable Section Quiz and Add or Save.
Note: You can only have 1 Quiz per Section and the Quiz will always appear at the bottom of the Section below any other Items.
Once Added to the Section a Section Quiz Menu to right will allow you to Edit Quiz or Add Question(s):
i. Edit Quiz.
Before adding Questions, you should review the Edit Quiz options where you can set controls for the Quiz. You can Limit Questions, Randomize Questions, Restrict Attempts and control what the Student can Review after the Quiz is completed. These are explained in more detail in the Edit Quiz section as shown below:
ii. Add Quiz Question.
Once you have reviewed the Edit Quiz settings, you can Add Question(s). There are several types of Questions, including Fill in the Blanks, Matching, Multiple Choice and Multiple Select. Questions can have Hints that if enabled after completion of the Quiz will display the Hint if the Student has incorrectly answered the Question (if the Student is allowed to Review in the Edit Quiz options). Questions can also be assigned Points equally ie. all 1 point or award more points as required:
Clicking 'Add' or 'Save' will update the Question in the Quiz and depending on the Question type will display the correct answer in Green:
4. Adding Items to Sections.
Once you have created the Section and/or Section Quiz to you can Add Items to the Section by clicking on the Section Menu:
i. Add Document
Note: You can choose to highlight an Item by selecting the "Enclose in Box" option.
The Document will appear above your Quiz if you have this enabled - otherwise Section Quiz will not be shown:
ii. Add Resource Link
iii. Add Text
iv. Add Video Link.
5. User Interface, Re-Ordering Units, Sections and Navigation.
Once you have added more than one Unit or Section you can use the Menu to the right to select either Move Up or Move Down. If you only have added the first Section or Unit or if they are the first or last these options will be visible, but you can't click on them depending on. In addition, new navigation arrows to advance to the Next/Previous Section will appear.
Staff and Students can also collapse and expand the Outline Menu using the Arrow to the left to maximize Course Content on screen:
6. Student View of Course Content and Section Quiz.
There is no preview (yet) for Students in Course Content. The only option is to create a Student, Enroll them to the Course and then login as the Sample Student. Example: Content and Quiz similar to what was added in the description above would look like this when logged in as Sample Student:
When Students 'Start Quiz' there is a modal window that pops up with Progress Bar:
Students will see the immediate outcome of the Quiz:
Students can re-Start the Quiz if they have not exceeded the number of Attempts allowed.
7. Review Course Content Quizzes.
If Course Content is enabled and a Section Quiz is added there is a new section under the Course / LMS called Course Content Quizzes. Here is a summary of all Students and Section Quiz outcomes for the Course Content per Student:
